Easy Tips To Help You Drink More Water

Since our product, the healthish WB-1 bottle, is supposed to help you drink more water, we thought it would be silly not to go through some more tips on how to increase your water intake and incorporate this into your daily routine.

If you want to know why we should be drinking water, you can read our previous post here.

For some people, drinking 2 litres per day is a walk in the park, but for others, it’s a struggle. If you fall into the latter group, then this post is just for you!

Bring your bottle EVERYWHERE

It’s easy to remember to drink when there’s a glass or bottle of water nearby. Invest in a good quality water bottle - when it’s visually appealing, that certainly helps too (like the healthish water bottle… shameless plug soz).

Reward yourself

We all know how hard it is to push yourself and create new habits. This is why it’s important to #treatyoself when you’ve accomplished a new goal otherwise there’s no motivation behind what you’re trying to achieve. Try drinking 2 litres of water a day for a week. If you complete this, buy yourself those shoes you’ve been eyeing.

Drinking games

This is a fun one, and it’s even better when your friends join. It’s just like actual drinking games, but replace the alcohol with water (who says you need alcohol to have fun?). For example, everytime someone swears or makes a bad joke, drink a whole glass of water. Or you can challenge a friend to a drink off.

Set reminders

You can set hourly reminders on your phone to take a sip, or there’s even apps that are specifically designed to help you drink more water: Waterlogged for iPhone or Carbodroid for Android.

Eat foods that have high water content

Did you know that we can increase our hydration levels by eating foods that have a high water content? This includes fruits and veggies like cucumber, watermelon, lettuce, spinach, tomatoes and the list goes on. You can read more about it in our post here.

Add flavour to your water

Don’t like the taste of plain water? Jazz it up by adding fruits/herbs/veggies, we’ve got some amazing combos you can try here – our fave is cucumber and mint!

Have a glass before a meal

It’s important to drink a glass before a meal because sometimes our minds trick us into thinking we’re hungry when we’re actually thirsty. It can also help us limit our calorie intake as it curbs our appetite.
